Large Scale Extension and Renovation in Harpenden

We’ve recently finished a massive overhaul of this property in Harpenden, taking it from a standard three-bed to a really substantial six-bedroom family home. The big challenge here was the scale, doubling the bedroom count while making sure the house still looked like it belonged on a Harpenden street. It’s a huge increase in footprint, but by getting the proportions right, it feels like the house was always meant to be this size.

Internally, no stone was left unturned with a full-scale refurbishment of every single room. We completely reconfigured the layout to make sense for a larger family, including a total kitchen redesign and installing high-spec modern bathrooms. To keep the home comfortable year-round, we also integrated a modern air conditioning system, ensuring the new living spaces stay cool even during the peak of summer. While it looks traditional from the pavement, it’s doing some clever work behind the scenes.
