A Full New Build off Southdown Rd

This substantial project involved the complete demolition of an existing property and a full knock-down and rebuild in Harpenden, allowing us to start with a blank canvas and deliver a bespoke new build home tailored precisely to the client’s vision. From the outset, we placed a strong emphasis on communication, holding frequent site meetings with the client and build team to ensure all requirements were met and that every aspect of the custom house build could be personalised.

The newly constructed property now offers a well-balanced and thoughtfully designed layout, ideal for modern family living. The home comprises four spacious bedrooms, including a principal bedroom with a private ensuite bathroom, alongside a high-quality family bathroom. On the ground floor, the layout includes a downstairs WC, a separate utility room, and a large open-plan kitchen and family room. This space has been designed to maximise natural light and functionality, making it perfect for everyday living as well as entertaining.

In terms of architectural detail, the choice of Residence Seven windows with a wood-grain effect was a key feature of this new build residential project. These windows were selected to create a more established, timeless appearance, allowing the property to sit comfortably within the existing street scene. The result is a classic yet contemporary home, avoiding an overly modern look while still delivering excellent energy efficiency and performance.

The external works were given equal consideration as part of this complete house rebuild. The garden was fully redeveloped in collaboration with a local landscape architect, creating a cohesive and attractive outdoor space that enhances the overall property and improves usability for the homeowners.

Finally, the bespoke driveway design was carefully planned to work with the site constraints, addressing the change in height from the road to the house level. This ensured the finished property remained in keeping with neighbouring homes and the wider street, while providing a practical, durable, and visually appealing access point.
